Baseline point generation

Construction Reference Point Planner

Generate a clean sequence of equally spaced reference points along a construction baseline. Start and end offsets stay explicit, and the output provides a ready-to-read station schedule for layout work.

Baseline layout inputs

The first scheduled point is at the start offset. With end points enabled, a usable end point is also included even when it is not an exact multiple of the interval.
Enter a baseline and spacing.

How the point schedule is generated

The usable baseline is the total baseline less the start and end offsets. Points are then placed at the requested spacing, beginning at the start offset.

Usable length = baseline length − start offset − end offset

For each point, the station measured from the original baseline start is simply the start offset plus its position within the usable section.

Why expose the unused tail?

It is common for a selected interval not to divide the usable length exactly. Showing the remaining tail makes the layout decision visible instead of silently changing the last spacing.

Layout limitation

This is a one-dimensional station planner. It does not rotate a baseline, transform survey coordinates, or establish project control.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are reference points spaced?

Starting from the selected start offset, points are placed at the requested interval until the usable baseline is reached.

Can I include both end offsets?

Yes. The start and end offsets define the usable portion of the baseline.

Does this create survey coordinates?

No. It produces baseline stations, not geographic or projected coordinates.
