Layout string methodology
For straight inputs, the calculator sums every entered segment. In coordinate mode, it uses the distance between each pair of endpoints, making diagonal layout runs easy to include.
Total = Σ run lengths
Planning length = total × (1 + allowance ÷ 100)

Why show the allowance separately?
Layout geometry and procurement planning are different decisions. Keeping them separate makes the source of the final quantity visible.
Check for duplicated runs
If the same physical line was entered twice, the total will include it twice. That may be correct for separate strings, but not for one reused line.
