Calculation method
The calculator does not assume one cover per box. Each box category has its own cover ratio, allowing unusual assemblies and multi-piece cover systems to remain explicit.
Category covers = box count × covers per box
Base covers = sum of category covers
Planning covers = ceiling(base × (1 + spare ÷ 100))
Base covers = sum of category covers
Planning covers = ceiling(base × (1 + spare ÷ 100))
Example
34 small boxes × 1 cover, 16 large boxes × 1 cover and 6 special assemblies × 2 covers produce 62 base covers. With 8% spare, 67 covers are planned.
Important procurement point
Quantity does not establish interchangeability. Confirm the cover dimensions, hole pattern, sealing arrangement and enclosure compatibility before ordering.
