Cable entry hardware

Cable Gland Quantity Calculator

Calculate glands by cable-entry category and optionally plan separate locknuts and earth tags without hiding kit assumptions.

Cable-entry schedule

Gland type is controlled by cable diameter, armouring, enclosure entry and approved accessory system. This page counts quantities; it does not select gland size.
Enter the cable entry schedule.

How the gland count is built

All three entry categories are treated as cable-entry counts. The selected accessory-per-entry ratios are then applied and the spare allowance is added after the base quantity has been established.

Total entries = standard + armoured + special
Base glands = entries × glands/entry
Planning glands = ceiling(base × (1 + spare ÷ 100))
Related accessories use their own per-gland ratios.

Example

58 standard + 16 armoured + 8 special entries gives 82 entries. At one gland per entry and 7% spare, 88 glands are planned before considering supplier pack sizes.

Pack-size awareness

If glands are sold in packs, round the final category quantity to the actual pack size during procurement rather than rounding only the total.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can glands per entry be zero?

Yes, though that normally indicates a schedule that is handled by another entry system.

Does this determine gland diameter?

No. Select gland size using the actual cable and approved entry system.

Can special glands be separated further?

Yes. Run separate calculations for different gland families when the hardware is not interchangeable.
