Condensate drainage

Condensate Drain Pipe Fall Calculator

Convert a constant pipe slope into total elevation drop and downstream elevation.

Fall inputs

The selected slope is an assumption. Verify project drainage requirements, trap arrangements and termination elevations separately.
Enter run, slope and starting elevation.

How condensate pipe fall is calculated

For a constant slope, elevation change is simply run length multiplied by the slope as a decimal.

Fall = Run × (Slope ÷ 100)
Downstream elevation = Starting elevation − Fall

Worked example

A 12 m run at 1% slope drops 0.12 m. Starting at 100.00 m gives a downstream elevation of 99.88 m.

Why the starting datum matters

A fall value is useful for routing, but the actual construction point must be tied to a consistent project datum. Small elevation differences can matter when working around ceilings, traps or equipment bases.

Limitations

This does not prescribe the required slope or verify hydraulic or code compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can slope be zero?

Mathematically yes, although that means no elevation drop.

Can I use feet?

Yes.
