Shower Glass Panel Layout Planner | Cut Sizes
Turn enclosure dimensions into a basic panel layout with equal panel widths, explicit edge clearances and a simple cut-piece schedule. It is designed for early planning before hardware-specific glass fabrication drawings are produced.
Enclosure layout inputs
Basic shower glass schedule
| Panel | Type | Width | Height | Area |
|---|
How the layout is calculated
The planner divides the stated front width among the chosen number of panels. A user-defined deduction is then applied to each front panel. The depth panel is treated separately so the schedule remains understandable.
Front panel width = front base width − edge clearance − hardware deduction
Total glass area = sum of each panel width × panel height
Why this is not a fabrication drawing
Shower glass can include tempered safety glass requirements, door swings, hinges, handles, wall returns, notches, cut-outs and exact hardware geometry. Those details can materially change cut size.
Use the result for coordination
The schedule is useful for estimating area, checking rough panel proportions and discussing layout with a fabricator. It should not replace a final shop drawing or product-specific measurement process.
Worked example
A 1.8 m front width divided into two equal panels gives 0.9 m before deductions. With 20 mm total edge clearance and 20 mm hardware deduction:
At 2.0 m glass height, each front panel contributes 1.72 m² to the estimated glazing area.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this calculate shower glass thickness?
No.
Can I model several front panels?
Yes.
Does it include hardware holes and notches?
No. Those require hardware-specific fabrication dimensions.
Can this be used as the final glass cutting schedule?
No. Final measurements should follow the actual enclosure and hardware system.
