Penetration dimensions

Pipe Sleeve Length Calculator for Wall and Floor Penetrations

Estimate sleeve material length from the barrier thickness, required projection or installation allowance and number of identical penetrations. Keep the geometric base and extra length visible.

Sleeve length inputs

Projection is intentionally user-defined. Actual sleeve extension, waterproofing arrangement and firestop detail vary by assembly.
Enter barrier thickness and allowance.

Pipe sleeve length formula

Sleeve length = barrier thickness + installation allowance
Total material length = sleeve length × identical sleeve count

Why the allowance is explicit

A sleeve may be designed to project beyond a wall, slab or waterproofing assembly. There is no single universal projection that should be hidden inside a generic calculator.

Check the penetration detail

The physical sleeve length is only one part of the penetration. Diameter, corrosion protection, firestopping, waterproofing, movement and annular-space requirements should be checked independently.

Worked example

A 200 mm barrier uses a 40 mm total planning projection and 20 identical sleeves:

Per sleeve = 0.20 + 0.04 = 0.24 m
Total = 0.24 × 20 = 4.80 m

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this choose sleeve diameter?

No.

Can I use floor and wall barriers?

Yes, provided the entered thickness and allowance represent the selected penetration detail.

Is projection included?

Yes, through the explicit allowance input.

Does this verify waterproofing?

No. Waterproofing and sealing are separate design considerations.
