Road and path edge takeoff
Kerb Length Calculator
Calculate the kerb run required for roads, paths, paving edges and other external works. Enter the run length, kerb size, joint gap and ordering allowance to see full units, nominal cut length and practical quantity.
Kerb run inputs
Installed module = kerb unit length + planned joint gap. The final physical cut may be affected by corner details and actual site geometry.
Enter kerb run and unit length.
Kerb quantity method
Installed module = kerb length + joint gap
Exact modules = run ÷ installed module
Full units = floor(exact modules)
Nominal remainder = run − (full units × installed module)
Planning quantity = ceiling(exact modules × (1 + allowance))

Why the remainder matters
The remainder indicates whether the last piece needs cutting. A run that is almost, but not exactly, a whole number of installed modules can still require a dedicated cut.
Corner conditions
Curves, transitions, radii and junctions can generate additional cuts beyond a straight run. Treat this calculator as a quantity baseline rather than a fabrication schedule.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many kerbs do I need?
Divide the run by installed kerb module and round up.
How are cuts estimated?
The remainder after full modules fit is the nominal cut length.
Should the joint be included?
Yes, when you know the intended installed joint gap.
