Gold Workshop Quality Control Checklist: Catch Problems Before Release

Run a deliberate final inspection against the approved order before finished gold jewellery moves to packing, delivery or customer handover.

Final checks

What final QC should examine

Final inspection should compare the physical piece with the approved order and focus on the characteristics that matter for that particular item. Typical checks include metal requirements, size, weight, stones, soldered areas, surface finish, engraving, movement and general presentation.

A checklist is useful because “looks fine” is difficult to audit. Specific checks give the inspector a defined opportunity to identify a mismatch before the item moves to the next stage.

What this cannot certify

A visual/process checklist cannot prove metallurgical strength, fatigue life or compliance with every product-specific standard. Additional testing may be required for particular products or risks.

Methodology

The readiness percentage represents checklist completion only. The release decision remains manual and should follow the workshop's approved quality procedure.
