Gold Follow-Up Tracker for Pending Quotes and Customer Leads
Keep pending gold quotations visible, assign priorities, schedule the next contact, and quickly identify follow-ups that are due or overdue. Built for jewellers, gold retailers, custom-order businesses and sales teams that need a lightweight operational queue.
Primary intent: manage pending gold quotation follow-ups without relying on scattered notes or messages.

Why a quotation follow-up queue matters
A gold quotation can remain commercially important long after the original price calculation is finished. The customer may need time to compare suppliers, confirm a design, approve a weight, obtain internal approval, or ask for a revised making charge. Without a defined next action and date, those opportunities can quietly disappear.
This tracker treats the next follow-up date as the operational heartbeat of the record. That is deliberately different from a generic sales spreadsheet: the interface immediately separates future work from conversations that are already due.
What each field is used for
- Customer / account: identifies the commercial relationship.
- Quote reference: prevents confusion when several quotations exist for the same customer.
- Quoted value: helps put high-value opportunities in context, but is not used as an automatic probability forecast.
- Stage: describes where the quotation currently sits.
- Priority: records your team's judgement about urgency or importance.
- Next follow-up date: determines whether an item is future, due today, or overdue.
- Next-action note: records what should happen in the next interaction.
How the dashboard works
Open quotes includes records that have not been marked Lost / paused. Due / overdue counts open records whose next-contact date is today or earlier. Open quoted value adds the entered quotation values for open records. These values are descriptive workflow metrics, not revenue forecasts.
Example workflow
Suppose a workshop has three pending orders: a $1,800 custom ring quotation due tomorrow, a $7,500 wholesale enquiry due today, and a $15,000 quotation currently under negotiation with a customer who asked for a revised specification next week. The largest value is not automatically the first task. Timing, stage and the actual next action all matter.
Common follow-up mistakes
- Leaving the next contact date blank.
- Writing vague notes that do not define the next action.
- Calling every customer with the same urgency.
- Using quoted value as the only prioritization factor.
- Keeping the only copy of a quotation trail inside personal messages.
Limitations
The page uses browser localStorage, so it is suitable for lightweight single-device work. It is not a multi-user CRM, shared database, accounting system, or backup service. Clearing browser storage or moving to another device can remove the records. Important business records should remain in your normal approved system.
Methodology
The tool classifies a record using calendar dates in the user's browser. A record is overdue when its next date is before today, due today when it equals today, and future when it is after today. There is no probability weighting because a quotation conversion probability should come from your own sales history rather than an invented generic percentage.

Frequently asked questions
What does a gold follow-up tracker do?
It organizes pending quotations by customer, quote reference, value, stage, priority and next follow-up date so sales staff can see which opportunities need attention.
Does this tracker use live gold prices?
No. It is a workflow tracker and does not connect to a live gold-price feed.
Where is my tracker data stored?
Entries are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. They are not automatically shared with other users or backed up to a central database.
Can I use this as a CRM?
It can support lightweight follow-up management, but a full CRM remains more appropriate for shared records, permissions, audit trails, integrations and centralized backups.
