Generator Preventive Maintenance Schedule Planner

Build a forward-looking generator service schedule using current engine hours, expected daily runtime and recurring service intervals. The planner shows both operating-hour and calendar timing so upcoming events are easier to see.

How the schedule is generated

The planner identifies the next multiples of the selected service intervals that are above the current engine-hour reading. It then converts the required additional running hours into an estimated calendar date using the entered average daily runtime.

Hours remaining = Next service-hour threshold − Current operating hours

Estimated days = Hours remaining ÷ Average daily operating hours

Why both hours and dates matter

Generator maintenance can be driven by accumulated runtime, calendar time, or equipment-specific maintenance instructions. This planner addresses runtime scheduling and converts it to a date estimate so the event can be placed into a maintenance calendar.

Use the service intervals that actually apply

Intervals vary by generator model, engine, duty and manufacturer instructions. The planner intentionally asks you to enter the interval rather than supplying an unsupported universal schedule.

Limitations

FAQs

Can daily runtime be zero?

No for a date-based forecast. Without operating hours, runtime-driven service events cannot be converted into future dates.

Why can major service and primary service coincide?

They can occur at the same engine-hour threshold when one interval is an exact multiple of the other.

Does the planner tell me what to replace?

No. It schedules the selected service interval only.

Can I schedule 20 events?

Yes. The planner supports up to 20 upcoming events.
