Drywall finishing tape
Drywall Joint Tape Calculator | Seam & Corner Length
Turn field seam lengths and corners into an estimated tape requirement. Separate installed length from the additional material needed for overlaps, cuts and handling.
Tape runs
The tape roll length is a packaging input. Use the actual product roll size when ordering.

Tape calculation method
Installed tape length = field seams + taped corners
Planning tape = installed length × (1 + allowance ÷ 100)
Rolls = ceiling(planning tape ÷ roll length)
Planning tape = installed length × (1 + allowance ÷ 100)
Rolls = ceiling(planning tape ÷ roll length)
Why corners are separate
Corner treatment can use different products or application details. Keeping corner length separate lets you exclude or adjust it without changing the field seam quantity.
Procurement interpretation
A roll-based result should always be rounded upward because partial roll quantities are not a practical order quantity. Actual finishing practices can also require more material than a pure length calculation suggests.
