Door Hinge Position Planner | Hinge Layout by Door Height
Generate a practical hinge-position schedule along a door leaf. Set the hinge count and top and bottom setbacks to make the installation layout explicit before marking the door and frame.

How the hinge schedule is generated
The planner places the first and last hinge centers at the chosen setbacks and evenly distributes any additional hinges between them. This makes the spacing arithmetic transparent while leaving the actual hardware specification in the user's control.
Interval = available hinge span ÷ (hinge count − 1)
Why this is a layout planner, not a hardware standard
Door weight, hinge type, manufacturer instructions and local practice can change the required hinge arrangement. The generated coordinates therefore represent your chosen layout assumptions rather than a universal installation rule.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use two hinges?
Yes, the planner accepts two or more.
Can I create a five-hinge layout?
Yes.
Does it tell me where the frame hinges must go?
It gives matching centerline positions, but the actual frame preparation should follow the hardware system.
Can the top and bottom setbacks differ?
Yes.
