Battery Cycle-Life Scenario Analyzer — Compare Operating Strategies

Put different cycling strategies side by side and see how depth of discharge and annual cycling change modeled energy throughput.

Compare three scenarios

Scenario A · Light Cycling

Scenario B · Balanced

Scenario C · Heavy Cycling

Cycle-life behavior is highly chemistry- and operating-condition-dependent. These scenarios compare arithmetic throughput, not a manufacturer warranty or guaranteed service life.
Enter capacity and three cycling scenarios.

Why cycle-life comparisons are useful

Two battery strategies can use the same battery but process very different amounts of energy. Depth of discharge and cycling frequency are therefore useful variables when comparing operating plans.

Annual throughput

Annual throughput is capacity multiplied by depth of discharge and annual cycle count.

Lifetime modeled throughput

Multiplying annual throughput by the selected analysis period provides a scenario comparison. It is not a degradation prediction by itself.

What the tool does not assume

It does not claim that one chemistry has a particular cycle life or that a given depth of discharge guarantees a specific number of years.

Frequently asked questions

Can annual cycles be zero?

Yes. The scenario then produces zero cycling throughput.

Does more throughput always mean faster failure?

Not necessarily in a simple linear way. Actual aging depends on several interacting conditions.
