How battery charging cost is calculated

The battery stores less energy than the charger may draw from the electrical supply because charging is not perfectly efficient. Dividing stored energy by charging efficiency provides an estimate of input energy.

Per-charge cost

Input kWh multiplied by electricity price gives charging cost.

Recurring cost

Charges per month and months per year turn the single-cycle result into an annual scenario.

Why tariffs matter

A different electricity price can materially change charging economics even when the battery itself does not change.

Frequently asked questions

Does the calculator include solar charging?

No. It treats the entered electricity price as the cost basis for charging energy.

Can efficiency be 100%?

Yes mathematically, though real systems have losses.
