Watch Winder Direction Finder – CW, CCW or Both
Search a large list of brands and movements. Get clockwise, counter-clockwise, or bidirectional guidance before you set the winder.
Direction finder
Direction meanings
- BOTH — winds either way (safest default if unsure)
- CW — clockwise-focused (common on many 7750-pattern chronographs)
- CCW — counter-clockwise-focused (common on some Miyota charts)
Wrong direction on a unidirectional movement usually means poor/no winding, not instant destruction — still set it correctly.
Educational practical guidance. High complications: follow brand/watchmaker advice.
Frequently Asked Questions
Not in the list? Try the base movement (ETA 2824, NH35, 7750…). If still unknown, use BOTH.
Winder has no BOTH mode? For bidirectional watches, CW or CCW alone can still work.
