Solar export-limit relief
Solar Battery Export-Limit Relief Calculator — Reduce PV Export Curtailment
Estimate how much solar energy above a grid export limit could be absorbed by battery storage instead of being curtailed.

Actual export constraints are often instantaneous rather than annual. This calculator is a screening model using annualized energy-flow assumptions.

How battery export-limit relief works
When site demand and permitted export cannot absorb all available solar generation, the excess may be curtailed. A battery can absorb part of that excess if it has spare capacity and enough charging power at the right time.
Raw excess = max(solar energy − site use − export allowance, 0)
Potential battery relief = battery capacity × useful relief cycles × capture availability
Potential battery relief = battery capacity × useful relief cycles × capture availability
Why timing matters
A large battery can still provide little export relief if it is already full when export constraints occur. The capture-availability input makes that limitation visible rather than assuming perfect coincidence.
