Refrigerant piping insulation
Refrigerant Line Insulation Calculator
Estimate insulation length for multiple refrigerant lines while keeping thickness and allowance visible.
Insulation inputs
Specification reference; does not alter length.
Use the specified insulation thickness and product construction from the project requirements. This calculator plans straight-run length only.
Enter run, line count and allowance.

How the quantity is calculated
The base quantity is the run per line multiplied by the number of insulated lines. The allowance is then applied to that total.
Base length = run × line count
Planning length = base length × (1 + allowance ÷ 100)
Planning length = base length × (1 + allowance ÷ 100)
Worked example
A 20 m run across two lines produces 40 m base insulation. At 7% allowance, planning length becomes 42.8 m.
Why thickness remains visible
Thickness is not part of straight length, but keeping it visible avoids separating the material quantity from the intended installation specification.
Limitations
This does not select insulation thickness, thermal class, vapor-barrier construction or refrigerant pipe size.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I calculate four lines?
Yes. Change the line count.
Can allowance be zero?
Yes.
