Parking Space Compatibility Checker

Compare a vehicle with the parking bay available to you. The tool shows the length and side margins after your desired parking clearances are applied.

How parking compatibility is calculated

The calculator checks the vehicle against the available bay and then applies the clearances you want to preserve.

Required length = Vehicle length + front clearance + rear clearance.

Required width = Mirror-to-mirror width + 2 × side clearance.

Why mirror width matters

Body width can understate the actual width that matters in a constrained space. Mirror width is therefore used separately for the side-clearance calculation.

A positive fit is not a maneuvering guarantee

Columns, neighboring vehicles, approach angle and the space outside the bay can make parking difficult even when the final dimensions fit.

Use real measurements

Measure the narrowest parts of the parking space and account for any walls, posts or obstructions.

FAQs

Is zero clearance acceptable?

A mathematical fit does not mean a practical one. Enter a realistic clearance appropriate to the space.

Does this simulate turning into the bay?

No. It checks the final parking-space dimensions only.

Should I use body width or mirror width?

Use both when relevant; mirror width is especially useful in narrow spaces.
