How the builder works

The tool adds the costs you choose to the ex-showroom vehicle price and subtracts agreed discounts. It does not attempt to guess current local taxes, registration fees or insurance premiums because those can vary substantially by jurisdiction, vehicle and policy.

Estimated on-road total = Ex-showroom + Registration + Taxes + Insurance + Dealer fees + Accessories + Other charges − Discounts.

Why itemized charges matter

A dealer quote may combine several costs into one total. Separating them makes it easier to identify which charges are mandatory, optional or negotiable. Insurance, accessories and dealer-added services often deserve separate comparison.

Use the tool with a real quotation

For a real purchase, replace each default figure with the exact written quotation from the dealer or official local source. Where a charge is not yet known, use zero and treat the result as incomplete rather than inventing a price.

Important limitations

This calculator does not know the applicable registration regime, tax schedule, insurance product, dealer policy or financing costs for your location. Those need to come from current local documentation. Financing interest, loan fees and future ownership expenses are not part of this purchase-price calculation.

FAQs

What is the difference between ex-showroom and on-road price?

Ex-showroom is the vehicle price used as the starting point in this model. On-road adds the other purchase-related charges needed to complete the transaction.

Should accessories be included?

Include them when they are part of the quotation. For comparison purposes, it is often useful to calculate both a base-car total and an accessory-included total.

Can I use this for different countries?

Yes, provided you enter the actual charges that apply in your market. The calculator itself does not assume a country-specific tax regime.

Does this include financing?

No. A financed purchase has a separate financing cost based on the amount borrowed, rate, term and loan fees.
