Generator Fuel Consumption Curve Analyzer — Compare Fuel Use Across Loads
Enter several measured or manufacturer-provided fuel points and see how fuel consumption, fuel intensity and cost change as generator load rises.
Fuel curve points
What a generator fuel curve reveals
A fuel curve shows more than litres per hour. Dividing fuel use by electrical output reveals fuel intensity, which can expose the economic penalty of lightly loaded generation.
Fuel rate versus fuel intensity
A generator may use less fuel per hour at low load while using considerably more fuel per useful kWh. Both measures matter.
Interpolation
This tool linearly interpolates between the nearest entered points when the target load falls between them. Outside the entered range, the calculator refuses to extrapolate silently.
Use manufacturer data
For commercial decisions, enter published or measured values at several load points rather than relying on a generic curve.
Limitations
Real curves can be nonlinear, and auxiliary loads, ambient conditions and engine controls can affect the shape.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter only two points?
Yes, provided your target load lies between them.
Can fuel use be zero?
Mathematically yes, but a running generator normally has some fuel consumption even at low electrical load.
Does the tool select a generator?
No. It analyzes the fuel behavior you provide.
