How garage fit is assessed

The model checks internal garage length, width and height against the vehicle plus the clearances you specify. It separately checks the garage door opening against mirror width.

Required garage length = Vehicle length + Front clearance + Rear clearance.

Required internal width = Vehicle body width + side clearance or mirror width + walking clearance, whichever is more restrictive.

Why the door is a separate constraint

A vehicle may fit comfortably inside a garage while still failing to pass through its entrance. Mirror width can become the limiting dimension.

Measure real obstructions

Columns, shelving, ramps and uneven approaches can create limits that simple dimensions do not capture. Measure the narrowest actual points.

FAQs

Does body width include mirrors?

Published body width and mirror-to-mirror width are often separate measurements. This tool keeps them separate.

Can the car fit but still be impractical?

Yes. A mathematically acceptable fit may leave too little room to open doors or walk around the vehicle.

Should I trust the result before buying?

Use it as a planning calculation and verify the real garage and vehicle dimensions before making a purchase.
