Electrical Service Upgrade Impact Analyzer — See Whether New Demand Changes the Picture
Compare an existing electrical service with current demand and proposed additions to see how much modeled margin remains and whether the project crosses your selected review threshold.

What this analyzer is actually testing
The central question is whether the modeled proposed demand gets close to or beyond the service capacity you entered. It is intentionally a decision-support screen rather than a blanket statement that a property needs a service upgrade.
Why the current baseline matters
The same new appliance can have a very different impact on two properties because their existing demand may be very different. Starting demand therefore stays visible in the result.
Why use a review threshold?
A threshold lets you identify when the project is approaching a capacity boundary without pretending that one percentage is universally applicable to every service or jurisdiction.
Example
A 63 A service with an 80% review threshold produces a modeled threshold of 50.4 A. Starting at 28 A, additions totaling 24 A would move the scenario to 52 A and cross that threshold.
What can change the final design?
Actual service decisions can depend on demand methodology, phase configuration, conductor and equipment limitations, utility requirements, installation conditions and applicable standards.
Limitations
This tool does not determine service eligibility, meter equipment requirements, utility approval, protective coordination or final conductor sizing.
Frequently asked questions
Does crossing 80% prove an upgrade is needed?
No. It means your entered scenario crossed the user-defined review threshold.
Can I add several future loads?
Yes. Enter each proposed addition separately.
Why does the tool use current instead of only watts?
The service comparison is expressed in amperes, so proposed power is converted into a current indication using your voltage and assumptions.
