Dive Bezel Remaining-Time Calculator – Elapsed & Left
Plan a bottom time, track elapsed minutes, and see remaining time the same way a 60-minute unidirectional bezel is meant to be read.
How a dive bezel reads remaining time
- At the start, rotate the bezel so the zero pip lines up with the minute hand
- As time passes, the minute hand moves over the bezel scale
- The number under the minute hand ≈ elapsed minutes
- Remaining ≈ planned minutes − elapsed (not always “60 − marker” unless you planned a full hour)
- Unidirectional bezels only turn one way so bumps can’t add time
This is a timing aid for understanding the scale—not a substitute for dive computers, tables, training, or gas planning.
Not a medical or dive-certification device. Real dives need proper training and redundant timing/gas limits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the bezel show remaining time directly? It shows elapsed from when you set zero. Remaining = your plan minus elapsed.
Why only 60 minutes? Classic dive bezels are a 60-minute scale matching the minute hand.
Why unidirectional? So an accidental knock can only shorten apparent remaining time, not lengthen it.
