Why container optimization matters
Theoretical litres often do not match commercial package sizes. A simple ceiling calculation may produce a large leftover quantity, while a combination of smaller and larger containers can sometimes improve purchasing efficiency.
What the calculator considers
The tool searches practical combinations of the three entered can sizes. It only accepts combinations whose total volume meets the required quantity, then ranks them according to the selected objective.
Worked example
If 37 L are required, the available sizes are 1 L, 5 L and 10 L, and the entered prices favour larger containers, the calculator can compare alternatives such as 4 × 10 L or combinations involving 5 L and 1 L containers.
Why the cheapest combination is not always best
A lower purchase cost can leave more unopened or unused product. For a short job with no future use, minimizing leftover may be more useful than minimizing purchase price. For a long project, spare material may have legitimate value for touch-ups.
