Gold Reclaim Value Calculator

Estimate what recoverable gold from a scrap lot could be worth after applying purity, recovery and buyer payout assumptions. This makes reclaim value more realistic than a raw melt calculation.

Reclaim-Value Method

Fine Gold = Weight × Purity
Recoverable Gold = Fine Gold × Recovery %
Payable Value = Recoverable Gold × Gold Price × Payout %
Net Reclaim Value = Payable Value − Processing Cost

Why Reclaim Value Differs From Melt Value

A melt calculation assumes all contained gold is monetized at the entered spot price. A reclaim estimate can be lower because actual recovery is imperfect and buyers or refiners may settle below theoretical metal value.

Use the Result for Scrap Decisions

For low-grade or mixed material, compare the estimated reclaim value against collection, sorting, shipping and processing costs. A high theoretical gold content does not automatically make every scrap lot economically attractive.

Actual buyer terms and assay procedures should replace the modeled assumptions whenever available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is gold reclaim value?

The modeled value of gold expected to be recovered and monetized after recovery and payout assumptions.

Is reclaim value the same as melt value?

No.

Can recovery be below 100%?

Yes, and it is usually the practical assumption for a process model.
