Concentrate Recovery Method

Contained Gold = Concentrate kg × Grade g/t
Recovered Gold = Contained Gold × Recovery %
Unrecovered = Contained − Recovered

Why Concentrate Grade and Recovery Must Be Separated

A high concentrate grade describes how much gold is present per unit of concentrate. Recovery describes how much of that contained gold is captured by the downstream process. Both are needed to estimate recovered metal.

Grade Units Matter

This page uses grams per metric tonne for concentrate grade. One kilogram is one-thousandth of a metric tonne, so the arithmetic converts the entered concentrate mass before multiplying by grade.

Use the assay basis supplied by the laboratory and keep dry/wet basis consistent.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does g/t mean?

Grams of gold per metric tonne of material.

Can this calculate recoverable gold?

Yes, using the entered recovery assumption.

Can I estimate recovered value?

Yes, by entering a gold price.

Does concentrate grade equal recovery?

No.
