Gold Bar Storage-Space Method

Adjusted Bar Footprint = (Length + 2×Clearance) × (Width + 2×Clearance)
Adjusted Bar Volume = Adjusted Length × Adjusted Width × Adjusted Height
Practical Space = Total Layout Volume ÷ Utilization

Why Bar Volume Alone Is Not Enough

Physical storage includes spacing, access, shelving and unused geometry. The utilization input gives you a practical planning allowance instead of assuming bars can occupy every available cubic centimetre.

Storage Planning vs Structural Safety

This tool estimates geometry. It does not determine shelf load, floor loading, security requirements, rack ratings or safe stacking heights. Those constraints should be assessed separately for real installations.

Use actual storage-system dimensions when making a facility plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does storage clearance matter?

Yes. Even small gaps become significant across large quantities.

Does this calculate shelf loading?

No.

Why use utilization?

Because secure storage rarely uses its entire geometric volume.
