Gold Alloy Recalculation Tool

Take an existing batch specification and recalculate the required gold and alloy masses after changing either the total batch weight, target karat, or both.

Recalculation Method

Original Gold = Original Weight × Original Karat ÷ 24

New Gold = New Weight × New Karat ÷ 24

Gold Adjustment = New Gold − Original Gold

This isolates the material change required by the revised specification.

When Batch Recalculation Is Useful

It can help when production quantity changes, a karat specification is corrected, or an existing job must be scaled without rebuilding the arithmetic from scratch.

This calculates target mass balance. It does not account for process losses, oxidation or assay deviations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can weight increase while karat falls?

Yes. The gold adjustment shows the combined effect.

Does this preserve the original alloy ratio?

No. It recalculates total gold versus total alloy. Component-level ratios must be handled separately.
