Record time against jobs and production stages so future labour estimates are based on your own workshop history instead of guesswork.
Estimated labour hours are useful for quotations and schedules, but actual time reveals where those estimates are consistently wrong. Record time at the stage level to see whether the difference comes from casting, assembly, soldering, setting, polishing or another part of the process.
Notes are useful for unusual circumstances such as rework, machine downtime or missing materials. They provide context when a single job takes much longer than normal.
Use the history later with your capacity planner and queue planner. A mature workshop can compare typical actual times against estimates for similar jobs instead of treating every order as a new guess.
