Methodology
The tool starts by determining whole packages needed to cover the required quantity. Discount is applied to goods value. Shipping and other user-entered costs are then added, and the tax/duty percentage is applied to the goods-plus-shipping subtotal. Other costs are added afterward as explicit project costs.
This sequencing is a simplified comparison framework. Real tax treatment can differ by jurisdiction and transaction structure, so the inputs should be adjusted to match the commercial terms you are actually evaluating.
Why total cost beats headline price
A quote can look cheaper per package but become more expensive after freight, package rounding, discount differences and local costs. Comparing effective unit cost after those items keeps the supplier decision focused on the economic result.

FAQs
Does the calculator choose the supplier for me?
It identifies the lower modeled financial cost. Technical compliance and delivery reliability should still be checked separately.
Why are package quantities rounded up?
Physical package-based procurement normally cannot buy a fraction of a box, drum or bundle.
Can taxes be zero?
Yes. Enter zero when the relevant tax or duty is already included or is not applicable to the comparison.
What are other costs?
Use them for explicitly quantifiable items not represented elsewhere, such as a fixed local handling charge.
