Electrical Reliability Event Tracker — Summarize Interruptions and Fault Patterns
Build a lightweight event register for interruptions, voltage disturbances, breaker trips or other reliability events, then summarize recurrence, downtime and annual financial exposure.
Reliability event register
How to build a useful reliability history
Reliability analysis improves when events are classified consistently. A short voltage event, a sustained interruption and a nuisance breaker trip should not be mixed into one generic count.
Event frequency
Monthly frequency is converted to an annualized count. This gives a comparable basis even when the period of observation differs.
Downtime
Duration multiplied by annual event count gives total downtime exposure. It can be combined with an interruption-cost model when financial consequences are known.
Why event impact should be separated
A high-frequency event may have small individual impact, while a rare event can have severe consequences. Tracking both frequency and impact avoids hiding that distinction.
Good event records
Useful records include timestamp, event type, equipment affected, duration, measured voltage/current and business impact. The calculator only summarizes the fields entered here.
Frequently asked questions
Can I track several event types?
Yes. Add as many categories as needed for the scenario.
Does the tool store my events on the server?
No. This page performs the calculation locally in your browser.
Can event frequency be zero?
Yes. Zero frequency produces zero annualized exposure for that category.
