Why the Danger Zone Exists

Near midnight the date-change mechanism is already interacting with the date disc. If you force a quickset while those parts are meshed, you can bend or strip calendar components.

Conservative rule: avoid quicksetting roughly between 8 PM and 4 AM. Move the hands out of the zone first.

Safe Action Panel

1. Check the current time on the watch
2. If inside the danger window, pull to time-set and advance hands past the zone
3. Quickset the date only when safe
4. Set the correct final time
5. Push/screw the crown back in

If the date feels blocked, stop immediately. Resistance is a warning, not a challenge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can’t I change the date at night? Because the date mechanism is often already engaged around midnight. Forcing quickset then risks damage.

How does the watch date change at midnight? Calendar parts gradually drive the date disc forward around midnight so the next date appears in the window.

What if my date is stuck? Stop forcing it. Move the hands out of the danger zone, then try again. If still blocked, seek service.

Is 11 PM in the danger zone? Yes. A conservative safe approach is to avoid quickset from about 8 PM to 4 AM.
