Dense aggregate quantity

Crusher Run Quantity Calculator

Calculate crusher-run volume from area and depth, then convert the quantity to tonnes, truck loads and estimated material cost using your actual bulk-density assumption.

Crusher-run inputs

If the entered depth is a finished compacted depth, use a project-specific material-state conversion factor or measured yield when one is required. This tool keeps the basic depth model transparent.
Enter area and crusher-run depth.

Crusher-run quantity formula

For a simple area-and-depth estimate, the geometric volume is the product of area and depth. An allowance is then applied to create a procurement quantity.

Volume = area × depth ÷ 1,000
Planning volume = volume × (1 + allowance)
Tonnes = planning volume × bulk density
Truck loads = ceiling(tonnes ÷ payload)

Worked example

For 300 m² at 100 mm depth, geometric volume is 30 m³. With a 7% allowance, planning volume is 32.10 m³. At 1.75 t/m³, that is about 56.18 tonnes.

Why placed depth needs definition

Aggregate quantity discussions can mix loose delivery depth with finished compacted depth. The calculator asks you to identify the basis so the result is less likely to be misunderstood.

Density is a procurement input

The same geometric volume can correspond to different tonnages depending on grading and packing. Use supplier bulk-density data when available.
