Cable installation sequencing

Cable Pull Sequence Planner — Order Pulls by Route and Priority

Turn a raw cable list into a first-pass pulling sequence. Rank routes by project priority, route length and cable mass so the most demanding pulls are visible before work starts.

Pull schedule inputs

The suggested order is a planning heuristic. Actual pull sequence can depend on site access, drum position, route congestion, pulling equipment, temperature and project-specific installation procedures.
Add cable routes and choose their priorities.

How the pull sequence is prioritized

The planner gives priority to the explicit project priority you enter. Within the same priority, longer and heavier cables are placed ahead of lighter, shorter routes because those routes generally deserve earlier planning attention.

Why sequence is not simply shortest to longest

Shortest-first can be useful in some projects, but a long or heavy run may be much more consequential to prepare. This tool intentionally exposes those difficult pulls rather than hiding them in alphabetical or route-number order.

Zone awareness

Zone labels allow the output to reveal where each pull belongs, helping teams review whether consecutive pulls make sense within the available work area.

Example

A 180 m feeder weighing 1.8 kg/m is a much different installation task from a 40 m control cable. Putting both in the same raw list does not communicate that difference.

Limitations

This tool does not calculate pulling tension, sidewall pressure, bend radius or pulling equipment requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a manual priority?

Yes. Select critical, planned or flexible for each route.

Does cable weight matter?

Yes. Enter linear mass so the result can highlight heavier runs.

Can multiple routes share one zone?

Yes. The zone field is descriptive and remains visible in the generated schedule.
