Last wear time + claimed power reserve โ is overnight stopping normal power loss, or a real problem?
If an automatic was only partly wound, stopping overnight can be normal. If it was fully charged and dies far earlier than the claimed reserve, that is a stronger problem signal.
This is educational triage, not a timing-machine diagnosis. Amplitude, lubrication and magnetism can all shorten real-world running time.
Why does my automatic stop overnight?Often because remaining power was already low after light wear. Sometimes because reserve performance has weakened.
Is stopping after 10 hours always bad?Not if the watch was only partly wound. It is more concerning after a true full wind.
My watch used to last longer. Why?Service needs, weakened amplitude, or changed wear habits can all reduce effective running time.
What should I do next?Test from a full wind, note exact hours to stop, and service if it falls far short of expected reserve.
