How to Grade a Cat's Eye
1. The Sharpness (Most Important)
A top-quality stone has an "Electric Line" that looks like a neon laser. If the eye is fuzzy or wide, the value drops by 50%.
2. The "Milk and Honey" Effect
Hold a light to the side. One half of the stone should turn milky white, the other half translucent honey gold. This is the hallmark of a premium Chrysoberyl.
3. Centering
The eye must run exactly down the middle of the cabochon dome. If it's crooked, it's considered a cutting defect.
