A Relaxing Rain and Thunder ASMR Experience
Rain and thunder are popular ambient sounds for creating a calm nighttime atmosphere. This browser-based storm scene combines animated rain, distant city lights, occasional lightning and layered storm audio without requiring a video file.
The rain animation is rendered with Three.js using a capped particle count and a small device pixel ratio so the scene remains smooth on mobile phones. The storm sound is generated directly in the browser using the Web Audio API. It is intentionally mixed at a strong, speaker-friendly level rather than assuming the visitor is wearing headphones.
Use the Rain slider to make the rainfall lighter or heavier. Rain Speed changes how quickly the rain moves. Lightning controls the visual flashes, Thunder controls the strength of the thunder layer, and Volume controls the overall audio level.
How the Storm Controls Work
The rain and lightning controls affect the scene immediately without refreshing the page. Pause stops the visual animation, while Sound On activates the browser audio after the required user interaction. Full Screen expands the storm to the entire display with a small exit button.
