How to use this tool

  1. Enter the cash currently available and conservative/optimistic sales assumptions.
  2. Expand Monthly forecast inputs and adjust the six example months to match expected seasonality.
  3. Review expected closing balances by month and compare all three scenarios.

How the result works

Each month adds sales receipts and subtracts inventory buying, operating expenses, labor, and fees. Conservative and optimistic scenarios scale sales and sales-linked fees while holding fixed cost estimates unchanged.

Use opening cash that is actually available, not inventory value or unused credit. Add tax payments, loan repayments, owner draws, and one-off bills into the relevant month. A forecast is not a guarantee of future sales.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead does this forecast look?
It models six consecutive forecast months that you can rename mentally as the next six calendar periods.
Why does the model scale fees with sales?
The sample treats entered fees as sales-linked. If fees are mostly fixed, leave that limitation in mind or adjust the estimate.
What does negative closing cash mean?
It indicates a modeled cash shortfall under these assumptions and timing. It is a warning to revise buying, costs, or funding plans.
Does inventory buying count as an expense?
It is treated as a cash outflow in the month paid. Accounting profit may recognize inventory cost when items sell instead.
Are the example month values recommended budgets?
No. They are editable demonstration values and should be replaced with the dealer’s own cash estimates.
